Academy Overview
The mission of the Boston Children’s Hospital’s Academy for Teaching and Educational Innovation and Scholarship is to foster the development of healthcare professionals as educators and scholars within the Boston Children’s community.
Boston Children’s Hospital’s Academy for Teaching and Educational Innovation and Scholarship:
- promotes excellence and innovation in teaching and educational research
- ensures all learners are welcome and included in all education offerings
- offers support to educators in the form of seminars and workshops, print and electronic resources
- shares best teaching practices through interactive educational offerings and peer coaching of teaching experiences
- facilitates development of junior educators as teachers, scholars, and leaders
- promotes interprofessional and multidisciplinary educational programs
- develops materials for national and international dissemination
- fosters recognition of Boston Children’s educators locally and as national and international leaders.
Our Academy is a member organization of the Academies Collaborative, a national forum for health professions teaching academies and similar organizations aiming to drive institutional commitment to educators and excellence in teaching in the health professions.
