Admissions
Prerequisites
- Completion of an undergraduate bachelor’s degree prior to applying is required. A science based degree is preferred.
- The GRE is not required.
- We cannot accept applications from individuals who are not US Citizens, unless the applicant has a Green Card.
- We encourage applicants shadow an orthoptist prior to applying

- The application requires all college transcripts, 3 letters of reference, a CV (curriculum vitae) and a letter of interest.
- You can find information on how to write a CV here
- There is no fee to apply.
- An interview is required. This can be done in person or virtually.
For References
The instruction letter for your references can be found here. Please give it to your 3 references giving them adequate time before the deadline to respond.
Tuition and Expenses
- Tuition is $5,000 per year (This is subject to change. Please confirm with program director as needed).
- The student is financially responsible for all living expenses including health insurance during training.
- Students in orthoptic programs do not usually qualify for student loans. Some partial scholarships are available through independent organizations, see the resources page.
