Course Objectives
Upon completion, participants will be able to:
- Apply published guidelines for the evaluation of neonatal cholestasis and management of pediatric hepatitis C to their clinical practice
- Perform targeted evaluations of children who present with abnormal biochemical liver tests
- Recognize and appropriately manage atypical and mild forms of childhood IBD as well as avoidant-restrictive food intake disorder
- Manage children with IBD who are undergoing surgery and understand the role of therapeutic drug monitoring in pediatric IBD care
- Apply updated knowledge in celiac disease, fecal microbial transplantation and environmental enteric dysfunction to clinical practice
- Recognize and manage GI polyposis and colorectal cancer syndromes in pediatric patients
- Evaluate the role of esophogeal capsule endoscopy in the assessment of varices in pediatric portal hypertension
- Manage ingested foreign bodies endoscopically
- Appropriately utilize surgical options for intractable constipation and short bowel syndrome
