The Non-Accidental Trauma Course is an online 1-hour course designed to provide training in the recognition and reporting of physical child abuse and abusive head trauma. This program is divided into 2 videos. The first video discusses how to recognize and document common signs of child physical abuse and the second discusses abusive head trauma.

A recent study reported that health professionals failed to report child abuse in 20% of cases in which the patient’s injury was indicative of abuse. This lack of recognition and reporting emphasizes the importance of provider training in recognizing signs of child abuse and documentation in such situations. The course material presented is relevant for practitioners in primary care or subspecialty practice.
