Description

Overview

Positive experiences can ease toxic stress and help children and youth grow into more resilient, healthier adults. HOPE identifies ways that our communities, clients, and systems of care can better ensure that all children have more positive experiences and that all families have support to nurture and celebrate their strengths. The Four Building Blocks of HOPE are composed of key positive childhood experiences (PCEs). The sources of those experiences and opportunities are the foundation for healthy childhood development.

During this 90-minute training, participants will have the opportunity to go beyond ACEs and learn about:

  • The Science of HOPE
  • HOPE and Health Equity
  • The 4 Building Blocks of HOPE
  • Shifting Mindsets Toward a Strength-Based Approach
  • Incorporating HOPE into your Work

Learning Objectives:

At the conclusion of this educational program, learners will be able to:

    1. Recognize the differences between HOPE and ACEs.
    2. Realize how HOPE can and should be a priority for EVERYONE.
    3. Describe the critical necessity of working from a strength-based lens with patients, clients, children, and families.
