Overview

This 2-day course will provide an introduction to a variety of pediatric nutrition topics such as nutrition assessments, growth and feeding difficulties, human milk and formulas, pediatric malnutrition, feeding and swallowing considerations, and management of many other pediatric specific specialty populations.

Course Format 

This course will be offered in a hybrid format. In person will be held at Folkman Auditorium, 333 Longwood Ave., Boston, MA 02215.

Virtual options are available for those who are not able to attend in person.

Learning Objectives: 

At the conclusion of this educational program, learners will be able to:

  1. Identify foundational practices for conducting pediatric nutritional assessments
  2. Describe a variety of pediatric diagnoses and their implications for nutritional care
  3. Apply practical management guidelines for children and adolescents with various nutritional needs

In support of improving patient care, Boston Children’s Hospital is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.

Dietitian

This course has been approved for 13 CPEUs. Completion of this RD/DTR profession-specific or IPCE activity awards CPEUs (One IPCE=One CPEU). RDs and DTRs are to select activity type 102 in their activity log. Sphere and Competency selection is at the learner’s discretion.

Nurse

Boston Children’s Hospital designates this activity for 13 contact hours for nurses. Nurses should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
