Health Insurance

Boston Children’s Hospital provides a range of health insurance options, including medical, dental, vision, disability and life insurance. Costs are shared between the hospital and the employee.

Professional Liability Coverage

Clinical trainees are provided with professional liability coverage for the duration of their training and thereafter for any acts or omissions occurring during the training and within the scope of the training program.

Lease Guaranty Program

The Lease Guaranty Program was designed to ease the burden of high housing costs in Boston for residents (including interns) and fellows. Residents/Fellows who are salaried through Boston Children’s are eligible to participate in this program.

Office of Clinician Support

The Office of Clinician Support is available to provide a safe, alternative communication channel for anyone who does clinical work with patients. The OCS is for all hospital clinicians and trainees. The program assists clinicians with any problem they may be having, whether it be work-related or personal. Boston Children’s Hospital established this program because it recognized the need for a safe, confidential environment where hospital clinicians can seek advice about work experiences or personal situations. Confidentiality of all parties is closely respected.

Work/Life and Assistance Programs

The Boston Children’s Hospital Work/Life Information and Assistance Program provides confidential assistance with personal problems and daily life challenges. KGA, an independent firm in the field of employee assistance and work/life services, administers the program. Counselors are available both close to work and near your home locations. The program also provides consultation with work/life specialists, information and referrals to community resources, vacancy checks to ensure compatibility of child care and elder care providers and customized educational materials to meet a broad range of needs.
