Description

Overview

This course provides clinicians with the latest evidence-based recommendations and innovations in pediatric healthcare needed to care for the critically ill child during inter-facility transport and throughout hospitalization. Presented by highly skilled practitioners and content experts in Critical Care Medicine, Emergency Medicine and Pediatric Transport. The course is formatted to engage learners through virtual instructor led lectures and Q&A with presenters.

Course Format 

This course will be fully virtual and presented via Zoom.

Learning Objectives: 

At the conclusion of this educational program, learners will be able to:

  1. Identify key points in the care of critically ill pediatric/neonatal patients during interfacility transport
  2. Apply updated evidence-based management strategies for acute illness and injury in children and neonates
  3. Describe existing strategies for surveillance and response to deterioration in hospitalized children
  4. Identify opportunities for system engineering and technology improvements to enhance patient safety and care
  5. Describe strategies for effective communication that promote resiliency and enhance team cohesion

Online Course Cancellation, Transfer & Refund Policy

Due to the propriety materials and content of each course, online virtual courses orders are NOT eligible for refund, cancellation or transfer.

Online training courses may NOT be transferred to another Participant. Participants have 6 weeks to access any virtual online course content. Participants have until the expiration date to access and complete any enduring material courses. Boston Children’s Hospital CE is not responsible for user technical difficulties including loss of internet, power outages, etc. 

Cancellation of Services
Although highly unlikely, in case an event is canceled or postponed, Boson Children’s can provide a full refund or offer a credit towards future events to those who have already registered.

Accreditation

In support of improving patient care, Boston Children’s Hospital is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.

 

 

 

Nurse

Boston Children’s Hospital designates this activity for 7.5 contact hours for nurses. Nurses should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity. 

Emergency Service
Approved for 7.5 continuing education hours (Basic, Advanced, Paramedic levels) by Region IV of the Metropolitan Boston Emergency Medical Services Council. *in accordance with the Office of Emergency Medical Services (OEMS) requirements, all levels of EMT are required to complete and end-of-course examination.
